Pets of the Week: A Host of Adoptable cuties

There are lots of cute pets available at Orange County Animal Care this week. Here are just a few of them. Let them audition to be your new best friend.
Buttons is a black-and-tan Papillon, which makes him small but mighty. Papillons are smart, sweet and energetic, and as far as they’re concerned, they can do anything a bigger dog can do—and probably do it better. They are just the right size for any home. Buttons is a 5-year-old male, which puts him in the prime of life for a Papillon. His ID number is A1116435.
Toro is a black-and-white Papillon mix who is cute as can be. He’s only a year old, still a baby, practically, so the two of you have years of good times ahead of you. This little guy’s ID number is A1116996.
If you want a great jogging companion who will love you more than anything, check out Maple. She’s a gorgeous blue-and-white pit bull who is only 2 years old. She’ll love doing everything with you, from going for walks to watching Monday Night Football. Her ID number is A1117250.
Rosie is just about the cutest terrier mix around. She has a whiskered face and a neutral coat in a neutral gray-brown palette. She’s two years old and ready to bring lots of love and joy to your life. Her ID number is A1117115.
Beautiful and sophisticated Tamara is of the feline persuasion. She rocks a striking tortoiseshell coat that’s short and easy to care for. At 5 years of age, she’s just getting started in life. Cats can live to be 15 to 20 years old, so Tamara is ready to be your friend for a good long time. She’s already spayed, so she’s ready to go home with you as soon as you can pick her up. Kim Kardashian: Home from the Honeymoon

Capping off their mini-honeymoon, Kim Kardashian joined new husband Kris Humphries were spotted arriving back in the States via LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA on Friday night (August 26).
The newlyweds made their way through the massive crowds - with the E! reality star seeming a bit shocked by the overwhelming amount of attention before she and her hubby loaded into an awaiting SUV.
Tweeting about the Stateside arrival, Kim wrote, "Back in the US and it feels sooo good! Had such a fun relaxing time away! Back to reality!"
The trip back to Tinseltown comes as Miss Kardashian is scheduled to appear at Sunday night's (August 28) MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles - as she's lined up to present an award.
Kim also took time to tweet about the news-dominating topic of Hurricane Irene, as she wrote the previous day, "I hope everyone on the East Coast is safe! I heard the weather is crazy!"

Katie Holmes & Suri Cruise: Beverly Hills Beauties

Making certain to keep in the public view as her new movie just hit theaters, Katie Holmes was spotted tending to her week-ending errands in Beverly Hills on Friday (August 26).
Still sporting her faux tattoo of two chains running around her wrist, the "Mad Money" mommy cutely held daughter Suri Cruise's hand as the two lovely ladies made their way to a local office building for a quick meeting before continuing about with the day.
As for Katie's newly released film, the 32-year-old stars alongside Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison in a horror/thriller titled "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark".
The Troy Nixey directed work is about "a young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend - after which she discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own."

Zac Efron Gets Bloody in Boxers for "The Paperboy"

Working well into the nighttime hours on his new movie, Zac Efron was quite the sight to be seen on the set of "The Paperboy" in New Orleans on Friday (August 26).
The "High School Musical" alum roamed the Big Easy filming grounds in a white tank top/boxers combo - all the while covered in blood as he was joined by his lovely co-star Nicole Kidman.
The revamp of the 1995 novel offers up a slew of other Tinseltown A-listers including Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack, as well as "The Help" actor David Oyelowo.
The film, due out in 2012, centers around "a reporter who returns to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate. "

Gwyneth Paltrow Braves Irene for BookHampton Signing

Not letting the inclement weather of Hurricane Irene put a stop to her east coast commitment,Gwyneth Paltrow turned up for a fan greeting at BookHampton in East Hampton, New York on Friday evening (August 26).
The Oscar-winning actress warmly greeted her literature loving audience while reading snippets from her new book 'My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness'.
In the Paltrow penned work, the 38-year-old offers up 150 recipes, which are said to "celebrate the joy of preparing food for loved ones she says she learned from her father, the late film and television director and producer Bruce Paltrow."
With proceeds from the day's sales benefiting the East Hampton Food Pantry, BookHampton owner Charline Spektor told local press, "Gwyneth is a great friend and neighbor of our bookstore, and we are delighted to invite the entire community to this great event."

Lindsay Lohan Takes Ali on a Nightcap Retail Romp

Teaming up for a week-ending sisterly retail romp, Lindsay Lohan was joined by little sister Ali on a shopping spree in Venice, California on Friday afternoon (August 26).
Clad in a sleeveless blue blouse, denim short-shorts and wearing a dream catcher necklace, the "Mean Girls" starlet and her marvelous model sis took to Abbot Kinney Blvd while popping into Nightcap Clothing's flagship boutique before emerging with a bagful of purchases.
Meanwhile, LiLo's recent lawsuit filing against Pitbull over lyrics in his hit song "Give Me Everything" has quickly led to plenty of press for the 30-year-old rapper.
In response to the legal filing, Pitbull wrote in a statement on his website, "We'll be performing at the VMAs, and as a matter of fact, I'd like to send out an invitation to Lindsay Lohan. Hopefully, she can come with me to the VMAs, and we can figure this out."
Getting no response, Pitbull then turned to MTV to discuss the matter, saying, "As far as the whole Lindsay Lohan situation, it's real simple: I'm actually surprised and, in an ironic way, kind of honored. The record, if you listen to it from beginning to end, [is a] very positive record. I start off even talking about my own life. So in no way, shape or form am I here to defame, degrade or hurt anybody. It was my way of showing love or helping out, I would think.
Insisting that the Video Music Awards ticket offer isn't a ploy to make headlines, he continued, "But either [way], I said, 'You know what? Performing it at the VMAs, [I] would like to invite her out. And anybody who knows my reputation [knows I] don't do no publicity stunts. I'm not really about none of that. ... So I said it, I meant it, and if she takes it, great. If she doesn't, cool. But she will have her tickets at will call."

JWoww: Slim n' Sexy PURE Party Girl

Showing off her slim 'n sexy figure, Jenni "JWoww" Farley played hostess at a Caesars Palace bash in Las Vegas on Friday night (August 26). Held inside the luxury resort's Pure nightclub, the "Jersey Shore" hottie was decked out in a skintight blue frock as she drank and danced the night away while sharing a few smooches with her bodybuilder beau, Roger Matthews. Off to Pure nightclub :)" while adding a short while later, "Loving pure :)" Meanwhile, the 25-year-old reality star has recently found herself the subject of plastic surgery rumors, but she's denied any such doing while attributing the change in appearance to her weight loss. Miss Farley dished to InTouch magazine, "People are saying I got cheek implants, my chin shaved down and a nose job. I lost 15 pounds and my cheeks have become more defined. I highlight my cheeks instead of putting bronzer on them." Attributing the shedding of the pounds to working out with her muscle-laden boyfriend, JWoww then said, "I'll probably get Botox by the time I'm 30 and have my breast implants redone in a few years after I've had kids."
